ALRIGHT I NEED SOME HELP HERE I HAVE A 96 I30T YPIPE N CAT BACK AND STILLEN INTAKE
SO I GO FOR INSPECTION DRIVE A GOOD HOUR BEFORE I DROP THE CAR OFF THEY DO THERE TEST THING I COME BACK AND I FAIL FOR NOx the limit WAS 1.50GPM I TESTED 2.05 GPM THE REST OF THE READINGS ARE AS FOLLOWS HC .26GPM AND CO 5.80 GPM I
IF ANYONE COULD LEAD ME A DIRECTION TO FIX THE PROBLEM I WOULD APRECIATE IT

ALSO JUST GOT AN INJECTOR CLEANING 2DAYS AGO AND NEW PLUGS

 

that sux man.. i'm also in ny and i'd say warm up the car real nice before the inspection and don't let it cool
cats start to work only after they get to a certain temperature..
or an effective solution: you can put your stock y-pipe back on for inspection and then pass, and then put the aftermarket y-pipe right after, successfully fooling the system. it's a bit of work but it beats paying $35 for each failed inspection.

Clean your throttle body if it wasn't included in your injector cleaning.

and don't use caps. Ny inspction doesn't like that either

 

 

Check and clean your EGR system. If you pass everything else but you are high in NOx that means there is an issue with the EGR system.

 

Use the higher octane gas if you aren't using it now.
