Bridgestone S-03 VS. Firstone Firehawk SZ50 EP
Bridgestone S-03 VS. Firstone Firehawk SZ50 EP
I'm down to the "oh-**** bumps" on my second set of Bridgestone S-03s and I'm looking for longer lasting tires that wont let me down in terms of performance. Does anyone have experience with Firsstone Firehawks? They use the same UNI-T AQ technology as the S-03 (Bridestone/Firestone), but they last a lot longer and cost a little less. Am I going to be let down by these tires after so many miles on S-03s???

Look into the new Potenza Re730's. They have uni-T AQ-2 technology and I believe they now come with a tread life warrenty.

RE950 for all seasons.
Pirelli PZero Nero for summers would be my choice next to S-03's. No idea on treadwear.. they're pretty new...
PS. You're nuts. My S-03's have lasted me for about 20k and I'm still on 'em after too many track days and jerk driving.

The new re730s? I haven't heard about them. They are different from these right? Arent those a big step down in performance compared to S-03s and Firehawks? If the new ones are comparable to the S-03 or firehawk and have a 3 year free replacement warrantee I might get them.

It's a great performance tire, not quite as good as the SO-3's but on the flip side they will last longer.

Sorry, I forgot they call the new ones 750's. They are a step down from the SO-3's but not a big one. I think they are better than the Firehawks.

Edit: oops, just realized they dont have a tread warrantee, i read that wrong. Damn, i dont know what im going to get. I think im just going to give the firehawks a try.
btw, Jer, yeah 15-18 is pretty nuts. I have a friend who wore his out faster than me, and he has awd. I learned to drift on these tires and ive had plenty of skid pad fun, so we all know where they went
anyone try the new AVE ES100 Yokos?! They're really sticky tires, i had then on my last car and they gripped, rain or shine. Those will be the ones im getting in a few weeks
They also have one the nicest, most aggressive treads to compliment the perfermance and a cheap price to boot...
