Great way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon...installed poly-filled mounts
I purchased a set of brand new front/rear mounts filled by sx7r from MAXIN who decided that he didn't need them anymore. I was experiencing severe wheel hop and contemplated getting Place Racing mounts. I read a lot of old threads in which people experienced a lot of vibrations. I know they had fitment problems and revised their mounts slightly but I haven't heard anyone purchasing PR mounts as of late so I decided on getting a set of poly-filled mounts. Luckily I was able to buy these mounts.
Today was raining so why not spend some time in the garage?
Removing the stock mounts...

Here's a pic of the old and new mounts side-by-side:
Close-up of the stock rear mount (left) and the poly-filled one (right)
Polyurethane-filled mounts installed onto the engine mount bracket:

I lowered my car and fired up the engine. First thing I noticed is the engine being smoother. When I reached operating temps and my idle speed dropped to the normal range and it is definitely smoother than before. (And my idle was relatively smooth to begin with)
I also noticed that the drivetrain "slop"/"slack" is gone. When I mash the throttle the engine responds instantaneously, kind of like adjusting the throttle cable slack- without actually adjusting the throttle cable.
To check the wheelhop I did a series of launches (dumping the clutch, feathering the clutch etc.)
Result??? The wheelhop is NO MORE!!!
Here's a shot of twin stripes I laid on the road; I spun the tires most of 1st gear

Here's a side shot of the stripes (I couldn't get it all in one shot
)

I will follow-up with how they are holding up after I put 5k miles (in about a couple of months) and 10k miles on them. By the looks of how it was filled I'm sure the polyurethane will continue to adhere to the rubber and last as long as I plan to keep my car.
If you're thinking about making your own or buying it off someone (not sure if sx7r is still making these but I think Sin is) do it because there is absolutely no drawbacks to this mod.

on me. It was a long day today and I took Friday off from work so I mistaken today for Sunday.
Haha those chevy belliares across the street are pimp. Man I wish I could do that to the road, I would not have any tires left. How hard was it to change mounts, you have to pull the engine out right? I wish we had a garage.
