My max got pretty messed up last night

Well last night we had a huge storm come up very suddenly at my mom's house which is out in the country. We thought nothing of it and just kept watching tv. Then I heard loud pounding on the roof. I've heard people talk about golf-ball-sized hail stones, but we were getting thousands and thousands of "plum-sized stones". We could see that the Pathfinder had a huge dent on the hood and the Bimmer had a cracked windshield already, as we peered through the window at the damage as it occured. When it was safe to go outside we went to check out the damage. I walked around to the other side of the house and found my car covered in leaves and tree limbs. My windshield was cracked and the rear window looks like somebody hit it with a shot gun. My trunk lid, hood, roof, and passenger side doors and fenders are all littered with huge dents now. Looks like Insurance is going to come and estimate the Pathfinder and the Bimmer, but my car is on it's own (even though it got the most damage). I can't even drive my car back to Raleigh, and now Penny (fbodykosherdill) will have to drive me to work all week.
All I wanted to do this weekend was wash and wax the car. And now it's ruined.

ouch. sorry! It is painful to hear of any VE's in a accident, they are at the point now, to where they are hard to find (especially 5 speed) and everyone wants one, cause they are cheap and the most awesome Maxima, but they are worth so little so it is scary...hope all works out well.

That's right, since my car has about 175k miles we just have liability on it. Tomorrow someone from our insurance company is going to come out and estimate damages on our house and cars. There's a chance that I'll get some money from our homeowner's insurance.

weird, is that some law?

I have 265k and I have full coverage with up to 1/2 million in coverage, so nothing happens to our home.

Poor Les. His rear window looks like somebody did a drive-by on his car.

Yeah, Southeastern NC. I picked up a few hail stones that were just huge... bigger than golf *****. Glad no body was outside when this was going on.

Anybody want to take a guess at the damage cost?

Hood
Roof w/ sun roof
trunk deck w/ spoiler
windshield
rear window w/ defrost

Those are the must fix parts. The passenger side of the car has a few dents as well (both doors and fenders)

"technically" wouldnt it be totalled, just meaning the price to fix it isnt worth the value of the car? I mean, windsheild alone will run you 300 at least, new trunk goes for about 150-350 (with spoiler), rear window, easy 350-400 (with defroster) hood, an easy 200, sunroof, 100-200...

your looking at like 1300 give or take a couple hundred NOT including paint....

SUCKS man...

Yeah, I'm gonna talk to my parents later and find out what the insurance company said. I think I'd like to just cut my loses and get something new.

So I take it the check for the Eibach/Tokicos won't be coming anytime soon? Sorry about the car but I have to ask so someone else might be able to purchase them. If you are still interested, let me know asap.

Man, that's terrible. I had a Toyota hit with a lot less hail at work a few years ago and I think it was around $3K damage, with no glass.

You're totalled.
