MEVI installed, car stalls
MEVI installed, car stalls
Got my MEVI painted and installed this weekend. I'll take pictures later.
On my initial drive, the car stalled on me once when going into netural from speed (above 3k RPM). It still does this. The car idles a little wierd, but it really always has since I installed the SC. I have yet to adjust the idle up to a "better" level.
So, I assume I have a leak somewhere...I was around 18-19 in-hg vacuum at idle before the MEVI install. Now it varies. At times its around 18-19, at times 14. I still get full boost, and the car drives just fine.
No, I didn't replace the gaskets when installing the manifold, as they are in fine shape.
Before I unbolt everything and re-do it all, anyone have any suggestions/common goofs that they think it could be?

I have had the same issue with the stock gasket, for soem reason it never sits right or somehow shifts which will give you a vacuum leak and your idle to be really rough. Right now the guys at pfi are trying to make a custom gasket that hold up better to boosted cars(thinner) so it doesn't expand like the rubber one does now. Hopefully they can get the gasket made pretty soon.

I put the a new gasket on under the intake manifold. I was refering to the TB, EGR gaskets.
You've got a vacuum leak (low vacuum and stalling = vacuum leak). Idle vacuum should be ~20 on the VQ (I've tested the vacuum on 8 VQs now and they're all the same). Spend the $10 on the TB, EGR, and IACC gaskets and check all your pipe fittings. The EGR gasket seems to cause the most problems.
