Just ordered 300ZX brake calipers

I just purchased a set of 30mm aluminum loaded calipers for $100 each. Calipers are reman calipers, new seals and gaskets and even come with some cheapo pads to use on the street. I'll be getting some crazy pads for use at the track, Hawk Blues or something in that vein.

I also just ordered new strut mount bearings, a set of Speed Bleeders, and a set of Eibach camber bolts.

I'm looking for the best deal right now on 300Z rotors and will be ordering SS lines shortly.

Since no one's replying to my other thread, does anyone know the diameter of the stock 4th gen rotor?

STAY AWAY FROM HAWK BLUE/BLACK PADS!!
you'll be replacing the rotors before the pads wear out.
Pick up some porterfield, Carbotech, or EBC pads.

possibly contact wilwood and see if they have something in your fittment. if they do, get the C compound for track days, and the T compound for street.

OE rotor is 10.8 x 0.86" I believe.

while you're at it, pick up a set of skyline rotors and build some new mounting brackets out of aluminum or steel. you'll thank me afterwards.

I'm not concerned with rotor wear but I'll look into other options.

As for the rotors I have to be able to fit them under 15" wheels (still gotta be able to bolt the drag slicks up) so the skyline rotors are out of the question. Bummer huh?

I'll just ask here, then I don't have ICQ anymore.

I get the impression from reading the posts returned through search that stock brake lines will work but 300Z lines will work "better" because they use a flare fitting rather than a banjo or something. I'm ordering SS lines here very soon will maxima SS lines work? I'm getting front and rears so the rears will still have to be maxima lines unless 300ZX rear lines work in the rear of the maxima.

in a 97 car mag there listing 11.0 front 10.9 rear. Neal whereb did you order all of this stuff and do you have part #s. I wonder if down the road if you could get aluminum hat rotors. with alum hats ,drilled , slotted and alum calipers i estimate weight savings at about 60 lbs.

That's weird, because after milling the 300zx rotors the diameter will be 10.71". ((280mm-8mm)/304.8mm) x 12" = 10.709"

Anyhow the shop that I sometimes go to to borrow the air tools and work on my car got them for me from a wholesaler who only sells to businesses.

As far as weight reduction that's why I went with the 90-92.5 Aluminum 30mm calipers rather than the 93-96 cast iron calipers. All that weight is unsprung too which is even better than just taking off sprung weight
