102k miles too high to buy? i dont think so
There's a 98 SE in the paper i got my eyes on.
Black with black leather, 102k miles, 5spd, loaded.
Want $7700 and i could offer. Is this number of miles too high? IMO i dont think so cause i'm familar with the car and the engine.
If i get this particular car, i will supercharge it (as my budget is $10k+
What do you guys think?
If it checks out fine and i like it, is it worth buying with that amt of miles?

thats not high at all, i bought my car WITH 125,000 miles!
Runs great, even the dam clutch is still in very mint condition.
I've seen people on here supercharge maxima's with more miles than mine so you'll be fine and an engine swap will take care of any problems u may have, black on black with 5 speed is hard to find, i would jump on that.

7700 for 98 with 102k...
mine's 95 and I only have 91K. I agree that no one will give that seller any serious offer, so cut down price like hell and buy it around $6000. If he doesn't sell the car now, go back after 3 months and offer him $6000. LOL.
3 months ago, I was interested in a 95 SE black on black with 120K, and that guy wanted $6000. Now, after 3 months, he still has it, and the price is $5000. He should have done that 3 months ago while I offered that much in the first place. dummy.
Believe me, the car market is sad, sad, sad now. And that means a deal for you.

Yeah, the price sounds a tiny bit high, try and get that down a little. I wouldnt worry much about the miles, so many people have more than that and are running perfectly. Im not sure how much it would cost, or even exactly what is involved, but a compression test might be something to consider before you install the supercharger.
If you're seriously considering going through with supercharging the car, you really should look for one with less miles. Of course you CAN supercharge a higher mileage max, but if forced induction is what you're going for, get one with under 100k.
price is decent if the car is is loaded. Do you get power everything climate, bose, leather, heated seats, sunroof, etc? if not than it's a bit excessive. I bought mine in 4/03 w/108k for $6,900, mint, got all those options.
Does anyone think I overpaid?

Got my max with my mom in 99, it was a 97 SE fully loaded with 90,000 miles. Paid 10,500 for it. It has 112,000 miles now and besides me messing around and trying to take the car apart to learn etc... It has giving no problems at all.
