Don't know of any reason the VI would matter on a high mileage car. It is in noway dangerous to the engine. Heck, these came stock on some Max's over seas, so Nissan sure did not think it would matter.
I have over 100K miles with a VI, others have a VI with many more than that.

I think it would better for the engine cause it allows the right amount of air into the engine at all times and probably puts less strain on the engine...

all it is doing is freeing up HP effeciantly

High mileage shouldn't really affect anything since the VI just improves airflow at high rpms. The only adverse effect I can think of might be extra metals in your oil. The reason I say this is after installing my VI and having my oil analyzed the wear metals were higher than normal. I told the analysis reviewer (Terry Dyson) that I had installed a VI, so he said that's likely where the metals came from.

Huh? the VI is slowly dissolving? Or, could it simply be that the VI makes you stay in the upper RPMS longer, therefore your engine wear will be more significant?

lol probably both. Since I installed my VI I've run 5 autocrosses or so and maybe 5 runs down the 1/4 mile. My impression from Terry was that the VI probably wore down some as it broke in, as is the case with most parts. Some of the small particles ended up in the oil, which showed the increased metal wear.

Excerpt...
"Also worth noting is my new intake manifold at 54k. The manifold was brand new, and I was able to clean my lower intake manifold as well."
Terry's response: ANOTHER SOURCE OF SOFT METALS AND SILICON.
