HELP!!! 2002 Grill-Tech Inserts... Especially you PMAS76

Well, today I butchered my install. Have to wait until tomorrow to go to Lowes to get some more zip-ties.

Was wondering if you could explain a little more indepth on how to put these on. I think I got it after a little trial and error, is there where I put the zips at? I just don't know where to put them so they don't show up that much. Thanks in advance.

I just got mine and installed them in about 30 minutes. I put one zippy in the middle of each outermost edge. I wrapped it around the horizontal fin, which is in the middle (of course). I did it from the front of the car; did not crawl under or go behind; forget that. All I had to do was get one wrapped around and inserted into itself without tightening it. I then did the opposite side then went back and tightened both. Then just clip the excess. I found working from the inside edge (i.e., the center of the car) first and then to the outermost side worked best. So, I have 2 zippies holding each insert into place. Mine came with a gazillion zippie ties. I would have liked they were a little longer, but I made it work. I don't have pics, but I love the look of these. The only drawback is now I can't run with my nose mask. Not sure I'm real happy about that but I figured that would be the case. Again, it is a really, really nice look, especially since my car is sterling mist.

Ummmm....I sure as hell wouldn't let anyone put my rims on their car to "try them". Why the hell would anyone risk a $2500 investment getting curb rashed or scratched while removing so you could "try them". People don't go around "trying" other people's rims. That is not normal. I would laugh at you if you asked me to try mine.

I would gladly lend you my wheels if you're a good friend of mine.... plus the fact that you'll pay for damages to the wheels.

I basically did the same thing. You can't even see the zip ties. I have one at each end. Here are a couple of Pics.

No, we're not kidding. Asking someone to borrow their wheels is the most idiotic thing I have ever heard. Frankly, I think you are pretty arrogant to even ask him, let alone posting up on this forum about what a horrible person he is for not letting you.

I would definitely let a FRIEND test fit wheels to see how they look and maybe drive around the block with him while I was in the car. But you are obviously not PMAS's FRIEND if you come in here hating on him for not honoring your ridiculous request.

And he's not a "real Max guy"? He's got 17 pages of "how to's" on his homepage. Get real.

The main grill on 2k2 and 2k3 comes off real easy, there are three 10mm bolts that hold it on and a couple of tabs at bottom. After you take out the screws just tug on the grill and its out, takes about 5 minutes. Hopes this helps

Just got home and started reading this thread. 92 SE-R 02 SE, what's wrong with you man. First off, you are a complete stranger and ask me to remove my rims to put on your car to test them out. I kindly replyed to you saying "sorry, I don't think so". And then you come on here in someone else post to bash me?? All my FRIENDS think you are an ignorant moron for even asking me to do such a thing. And I was kind to you just saying sorry, and then you go off on me?? Wow. And to say i'm not a real Maxima guy? Like someone else posted here, I have 17 pages of "how to's" on my homepage. Do you have any idea how long that took me to do?? Hours, even days. Not to mention all the help I give people on the org when they PM, or email me. And you have the nerve to bash me for not letting you try my rims on your car. What are you a fukin joke man. Holy **** you got nerve. What are you going to ask next, for me to let you try out my woodgrain on you dash to see if it goes with your interior? I mean come on, get real. As far as you question mad_maxx03, i think Maxmann said it best in the third post. Put the zip ties in the middle of the outer most edges on the two inserts and wrap them around the horizontal bars that go across the lower opening. This will conceal the zip ties the best. Sorry i didnt get answer sooner but I wasnt home all day. BTW, thanks for everyone getting my back on the whole rim thing.
