what size should exhaust pipe be??

i am getting my b pipe custom made (mandrel bent) at a muffler shop. i have a Apexi muffler with a 3" inlet and also the y-pipe from Stillen. should the exhaust piping size be 2.5" or 3" ?

i believe its 2.5 n/a and 3 with forced induction
