Ran a 14.59 with an 02 auto and only an air filter

i went to the track with a few friends yesterday, one drives an is300 and the other drives a G35 coupe. I installed a universal 3" cone air filter from autozone that i bought for 25 bucks and thought i would take it to the track. I haven't gone before but i knew that people with an 02 automatic ran about 15.0 and 15.1 so i was hoping for a 14.9. Well on my second run i pulled a 14.9 and then a few runs later i got a 14.59 with a trap speed of 95! Pretty good for an 02 auto with just a cone air filter. My reaction time was .688 so i still coulda got a little faster. Well now im happy i got my car in the mid 14's.

Sounds like the savings in weight (between the SE and GXE) does make a difference. Great time.

Whatever. It isn't hard to believe, HNIC, that an auto 02/03 is capable of mid 14s... look at Speedy6, who got a 14.6 (or 14.5) in the 1/4.

I'll take mine to the track this summer and post a slip especially for you.

So you mean to tell me that his cone filter decreased his quarter by 5/10 of a second besides what was so different between his two runs I,m sorry but I need slips; until then

I ran a 14.6 in 80 degree weather bone stock what you calling bs on. His car weighs less and has smaller wheels that weight less. I believe this 99.9%. Slips when you get a chance ohh and i went from a 15.0 to a 14.6 by the end of the day. Its called learning how to launch and get a good 60'. That trap is awesome for an auto what were the conditions.

okay, i got a 2.259 on the 60' time. Im tryin to post the pic of the slip on here, imcar number 403 on the right side. Im not here to lie about my times. Just want to let people know what this car is capable of. I got a 15.5 my first time because i have never raced on a drag strip before and i gunned it off the line, and of course it burned out for most of 1st gear.I mostly ran 14.7's but i pulled off a 14.59. Hopefully i get this slip posted. Thanks!

That's a nice 60ft time. I always manage to go the track on the slickest of days.

My best 60ft time to date is a 2.378

It has to be a picture file, ending in a .jpg or .gif. The one you tried to post was not, thats why it didnt work.

Either way, great time!

that website you are using to host your pictures doesnt let people copy a link to the picture and it does not let anyone save the picture to their hard drive.

i was able to find the picture of the time slip but it is way too small for the skeptics to read.

try going to http://www.cardomain.com and set up a webpage and use that to host the pictures.

Hopefully I'll have the same luck this summer (once the mods I'm shooting for are installed).

Sorry but cutting a .5 light will still net you the same ET.....RT has no bearing on ET, you can sit at the light for 3 seconds because the timers start as you cross the start beam.
