WRITEUP!! Dash Clock Re-wire

Ok guys, my first write up. I had seen this somewhere before but was unable to find it anywhere when I was ready to do it. So what I did was go out and figured it out myself. This needs to be put in the STICKY please.

If you do the fog light re-wire chances are you use them as your daytime running lamps too. The problem is when your lights are on the clock dims and becomes impossible to read during the day. The fix, make it so it does not dim. Pop out the clock, doing it in such a way as to not scratch the dash or the clock. It will take a nice little bit of force but as long as it is removed straight up nothing should break. Then look for the red wire with blue stripe(2001) and disable it however it suites your fancy. I removed it from the actual wiring harness and taped it up so that I can restore it's function later by plugging it back in. Put everything back and re-set your clock and your all done.

I am not responsible if you are a nincompoop and screw up your car. ENJOY

Now that you sed that. I'd like to do the door LED swap out and have the LED's on when the key is in the on position. And maybe have them as blinkers to. letf turn blinker blinking, left door controls blinking.

They don't really bother me. I'm used to it If there on during the day time, they make your light seem shinyer (I think.)

Like many things in life, I think the novelty has died off so much that what used to grab your attention is now just background noise in the driving adventure. I know I don't really even pay attention to them anymore.

In Canada by-law, cars here have to have dtr lights, i think it applied to all cars built after 1989? something like that lolz...

on a second note:
Has anyone in Canada done this fog-rewire, and since we already have dtr lights w/o having to swtich them on, what wire was tapped into instead of the clearance? or is it even possible to tap into the high beam bulb?
