Bad idle with new fuel pump

Anybody had any problems when they put in the walbro 255lph with idle...my car dont' wanna idle good, infact it don't idle it dies. Stays around 1k.

And then theres this other thing happning that happend when the pressure pipe blow off on the dyno where now it seems to stall and die out when you touch the gas.

Ideas?

Another note, how many quarts of oil does the max now take with the s/c?

on a side note i'm ready to rip out most of the performance crap intercooler 2.87 and all. Maybe an m3 or m5 could replace it, but first I wanna try and get this ****ing thing running for once.

you're running rich because the fuel pump is causing the fpr to hold a higher fuel pressure. Get an aftermarket fuel pressure.

If you're low on gas maybe the pickup tube on the fuel pump assembly wasn't secure and it fell off?

Possible vacuum leak will also cause stalling, especially after the MAF.

After my FPR I had a fluctuating idle. But once it goes below 1K it's like normal.. Its at 41psi idle. I guess I should lower it..

Also, the fuel pressure is at about 40psi at 1k. And no it's not low on gas.

It's around 40psi Stays right around it. But it's idling at 1k rpms it will not ever drop below that...then the car dies when you tap the gas. Anyway it's going to the shop 2 morro, ive been working on ideas over the past two weeks, thought I'd post it see if anybody had any insight.

The Walbro pump isn't the cause of the problem. I installed the 255 lph pump in my car several weeks before installing the SC. Yes, fuel pressure was up around 40 psi at idle (still is), but it has never had any idling problems since installing the pump. I think your problem is related to whenever the pressure pipe blew off. Maybe you blew the MAF sensor at the same time. Or it created a vacuum leak somewhere.

The SC and oil line don't hold much oil, so the oil capacity is about the same as before. Check your dipstick, if it looks low, add oil.

My question about the oil was not really related to anything else...I'm doing the oil change and need to know how much of redline to get, I don' know what I did with the book so I dont' know how much it holds. I could figure out how to pull the dip stick and check .

Oh, sorry. The VQ takes about 4.5 quarts, so you'll have to buy 5.
