Mine seems to be pretty accurate, and it is located at "idontknow".

Mine seems very close to reality if the care is moving, will go way high if sitting in traffic, hot pavement.

It's located in the digital displace at the bottom of the rpm tach. You might need to use the mode button on the steering wheel to select it.

I believe the sensor is located under the hood in front of the radiator. It is extremely accurate (within 2-3 degrees) in most cases. When the car has been sitting or is running and sits for a while, it may be off at first until it cools off from wind blowing by it.

The sensor is fairly accurate as long as the car isn't sitting for a long period. Usually off a degree. I'm a weather observer at the airport and the temp sensors we use are official data and I've compared it to the car when I arrive at work and leave.

I glanced the other day and noticed what looked to be it in front of the radiator. I saw it through the lower grille. Pretty close to the ground. Hot pavement makes it read high (in my case.) Pretty accurate at night.

that's the interior temp sensor, and on the other side of the dash is the lite sensor.

same here, and my tech told m its what you said its the hot ground or even heat from the motor to cause it to be off when its hot out.

It coms as a part of the trip computers in the 02/03's and you would have to change your gauge cluster and intstall all of the wiring and sensors to a pre 02 which is expensive. In the 00/01 it was a part of the automatic climate control which again would be expensive and alot of work. Just buy a portable unit.
