Will these tires fit?

Will 225/55ZR16's fit onto a stock 16 SE rim? And will it rub in the wheel well at all? I'm not sure how tight the clearance are, but the extra half inch or so in tread I figured would be nice!

These are the ones I was thinking of in order of preference:

Yokohama AVS ES100 - http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

Dunlop SP9000 - http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

Kumho 712 - http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

Yokohama AVS Sport - http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

They'll fit, but you should use either 215/55 or 225/50 instead.

How come? Would it throw it off that much?

Actually, I got the answer...the difference would really be minimal, with slight variation from manufacturer to manufacturer. But you are right that is I go with the 50 series instead of the 55 series I'm less likely at getting speeding tickets. Here's my friend's site that show the differences:

I just picked up a set of AVS ES100 (225/50/16) 2 weeks ago. They are awesome. In the dry, they stick really well. Ditto in the wet. What surprised me was just how quiet they are. I used to run on Toyo FZ4 and with 2-3 mm of treaddepth, they were much louder. I heard that the Kumho 712 get loud over time too. (I paid C$157/ea. in the GTA.) Concerning tire profile, going with 50% vs. 55% will give you better steering response on top of your speedo being more accurate.
