ANYONE had major PROBLEMs from Moddin????

My car just got back from the shop. My mechanic, like most would, tells me that what I am doing to my car, is not good and the car wasn't made to handle it. He thinkings that the motor mounts are stretched because of the mods on my car. Also there was a leak coming from the transmission that he patched up that he said was prolly from the stress it endures. As I see it not very large problems. The leak was sealed and the motor mounts don't need replacement they are just alittle worn. I think either problem could have happened anyway if I didn't mod.

Also some brackets around my y pipe were twisted and bent. My mechanic said that he had never seen that on a Maxima and thought it was due to the torque of the engine. He bent them back. Someone on the org told me that he doesn't even have those brackets so I shouldn't worry about it. They are sheet metal apparently and are bent really easily. My mechanic made it to be like it was something really out of the ordinary for Maximas...

So now my Dad is like, "Maybe you should look at what you are doing to your car and not race it anymore until you can afford two cars. One for racing, one for reliable transportation." He thinks that I am going to have more and more problems within a year and that I should think about not modding and racing my car.

What do you guys think? I definitely agree that racing is not good for the car but I don't think that I will do anything so drastic that will mess up my car for good. By the time my engine dies I probably won't own the car anyway. And used engines I have seen go for like $300 anyway so who the fu ck cares? Opinions??

Motor mounts tend to "wear" regardless of driving habits. They'll wear faster if you race the car or push it, regardless of mods.

Bad installations ALWAYS lead to problems. Never get a crappy install job. I've had 0 problems caused by mods, but only because I researched for the best quality parts and best quality installations.

If you drive hard, you'll wear any car out quicker, mods or not.
