Suspension Upgrade Complete (Pictures Inside)
Suspension Upgrade Complete (Pictures Inside)
Well, after about 8 hours of install time, SmackDown85 and I have finished the suspension upgrade on my 2002 SE Max.

The car has been dropped 2.2" in the front and 1.7" in the rear. I used TEIN springs and KYB GR2 struts. The ride is incredible. On highways, the ride is very close to stock, just without that "Cadillac-lofty" feeling. In the city, the car is more aggressive, while still smoother than most of the dropped cars I've ridden in. As for handling, there's no question that it's better. I did the "road cone egg test" with the car after the drop and was quite impressed that it handled well even up to 40 MPH in the curves (P.S. Thanks to the local DMV office for allowing me to use their course) without knocking off the eggs.
And the appearance is changed too. The car is definitely lower, even from a driver's prospective. Eventually I'll get some rims and wheels to replace the stock ones, but the stock rims are on for a while.
BTW... the stock struts are Tokico struts. Not sure who makes the springs, as they weren't marked.
Comments, questions, thoughts, etc are welcomed.

Hope you cut about 2/3 of the bump stops or used KYB dust boots all around.

where do you guys get tein springs and how much do they cost?
i have ground controls in my garage that i was planning on putting on this summer but now im thinking i'd rather have teins so i dont have to deal with any of the supposed problems with ground controls.

Your car looks hot now with Teins springs!!
But 8hrs install time
Either way it still looks sweet.
