i'm sure it's real...i only have an intake and better tires for performance mods and granted i haven't had a chance to get to the track yet this year, i'd say i'm running mid 14's to low 15's

Yeah it's real. Stranger things have happened.

 

NOT POSSIBLE!!! The best number on a stock 4th gen 5spd max in the quarter was a 15.2 by motor trend. An intake wouldnt get you to 14.6

 

Motor trend.hahaha. They're a joke. Many org. members have run 14s stock in the 95/96 maxs. 14.6 with intake is pretty good tho.

 

wouldn't you like to see times like that happen at st. thomas with just an intake?

Motor Trend, Is not a "real" source.. They do not really "Drive" any of thier test vehicles" as shows in thier times not only for the maxima but other cars as well.

Mid to High 14's are possiable with just intake, but also depends on other variables as well.

i was there with a few other org members... it is true... and he ran some other times that day very close to that also. Will is just one of those people that "drives it like he stole it"... he gets plenty of practice b/c he thinks everyone wants to race...lol.

 

LOL, that sounds like me...I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with weak ankles on the .org.

One thing you'll learn around here is not to magazine race. Don't ever mention magazine times and think people here don't know any better.

No kidding! It's our ****ty humidity up in Canada... I hate it. US tracks are so much faster!

 

Mag. racing is probably the worst thing you can do to compare performance to real world. It might only be good to do a head-to-head comparison between two cars... driven by the same monkeys.

 

It's completely believable seeing that he ran in JANUARY, is only trapping 93mph, pulled a decent 60 foot, and his track is known to produce quick ETs. Nothing new here.

My first run that day was a 14.77, I thought it was a fluke and something was messed up with their timing system. My next run was that one and I ran 14.7-14.8 the rest of the day. The track conditions were stellar, around 50 degrees and low humidity. The best I have been able to muster since then were just 14.8's. I got some sticky tires on there now and I hope to beat my best with some better 60's before I start doing some exhaust work. The track is also a good track very well prepped and in good shape (Fayettville, NC).

 

with the same mods i did a 14.8 in Montgomery. Also in January.
