My car came with 12 miles and I don't know if it was okay or too many. A family member of mine just bought a '01 CL and I went to pick-up the car with him. It came with 87!

So I thought to myself, that I better specify for a "new" car when I buy a new one next time. Did anyone had to specify? And how many miles did it come with?

miles...

I've been told that the dealership has to drive them around for a final test but I still get a bit sketched when there's mileage on a 'new' car. It's not a big deal but I when I bought my 2000se it had 2300 miles on it so mine wasn't new either...

10 miles. Anything under 30 or 40 miles should be ok for a new car.

I had about 100 miles on my car. I was dirty and had some scratches on the doors and in the interior around the temp controls. It didn't even have that new car smell.

The dealer has to do PDI on all there cars, and go through a check list. That also includes filling the tank, driving the car a few miles to make sure EVERYTHING works, that also means they have to floor the car and beat it up pretty good when they get it. I have seen a few at dealers being done, and yes they are floored and yes the brakes are mashed hard. It is a requirement for most dealers to make sure the car is in working condition.

3 miles on mine, but I picked it up the same day it came from the factory, that was already reserved for me, so no one test drove it. I think some miles get put on it when they drive the car at the port to its parking spot, and then from the spot to loading it on the trailer (or whatever it's called). I don't know how much driving that can be. Then I suppose the dealer drives it around the block or something during final checks. Actually, my trip meter A read 2.7 when picked up. I wonder who reset it, and when.

Got mine with 27 miles on it because it had to be driven from another dealership to the one I bought mine from. The other dealership was about 20-25 miles away.

My car had only 6 miles on it when I got it. BUT...when I had purchased another new car before this one, I don't know what prompted me to specify that I wanted no more than 15 miles on it. Sure enough when the salesman called me to notify me that the sales manager had located one he was like "Do you remember what you said about the miles?" It had 91 miles on it and he tried to pass that off as new, without deducting any money? F- THAT! I refused the car and went elsewhere and got my new car with 10 miles on it

Mine came with 50 miles. A swap with another dealer I was told. Indeed, that sending dealer in Boston is about 50 miles away. I was desparate for a 5 speed with leather and 17" wheels. I searched dealers for months. In 1997, the Max I bought had 37 miles. Again, a long wait for a 5 speed

mileage...what is the big deal?

Mine came with 85 miles, but 60 of those were getting it from another dealer. What is the deal with the mileage questions? These cars do get test driven...I know when I test drive I put at least 20 miles on a car..a few testers and you've easily got 100 miles or more. Now I would get concerned with thousands of miles...either a demo, or one that has some problems!!!

20 miles

20 miles at the time of purchase. This included my test drive. It was covered in plastic when I saw it at first. I was supposedly the only customer to test drive it. They tookit after my drive to clean it up. They called "detailing".

The reason why I post this...

is that I was at Acura dealer test driving a CL type S. When we went out to the car, I was shocked to see that it was a brand new one with plastic cover all over it, and both the wheel and the seats were still wraped up. It had 2 miles on it and was very low on fuel. I kinda felt guilty for driving it since it was so new, but the saleman insisted that it was alright. But I still didn't drive it as hard as I would have liked. The funniest thing was that, the car was shifting so eratically that it was pausing and jerking due to low fuel. At one point it even ran out of gas and I had to push it to the gas station while the saleman steered. After getting back to the dealer, I realized that the car will be sold as a new car and no one will know about it except the people who were inside the car with me. So, I think the only way to avoid this is to ask for a low milege car?

my car came with.....

11 miles on it (7-8 were from the test drive), but the dealership was 35 miles away, so i had like 50 when i got home. they just got the car, still had the white, garbage bag material on the hood, trunk, and roof (when they transport the car), although i still see some of the adhesive marks on the car from that garbage bag stuff.

would like to have had less...

Mine had 254! It was ordered and driven from another dealer in another state. For all I know they probably drove it at 130 mph all the way here. But, whatever damage may have occured during the 254 is bound to pop up in the 36,000 miles under warranty. Right now I have 2300 and it still runs like a Nissan!

Mine had 3 miles. I put another mile on for a test drive.
I also looked when it was made from the door panel sticker. Mine was 3 months old, so I thought that was OK for a car coming from Japan.

just kidding.

3 miles when we started the test drive. 27 miles at the end.
that pretty much cinched the deal. Couldn't drive it that far and not buy it.

purchased 10/00, manufactured 08/00.

what 'cha think??

I think I got you all beat...my car had 468 miles on it when I picked it up!! I know, you're probably wondering WTF??!!@#$%^& Well, when I bought it back in Oct., I had been looking for a 5-speed Merlot SE with just the C&C package for about 2 months. It was nowhere to be found at the time and the only ones out there were either in colors I didn't like, automatics, or fully loaded (I live in NC). I was in dire need of a new car (my '93 Sentra literally DIED!) and I couldn't wait 'til Jan. for them to order me one. SO, I opted for a fully loaded one. It had to be driven from a dealer that was about 200 miles away (cost extra to have it put on a truck), so the car I bought initially had 268 miles on it.

Since this was my first real car buying experience, I got caught up in the moment and overlooked the mileage. Anyhow...how much money do you think I could have negotiated off the car since it had that many miles on it when I picked it up?????

87 miles. Had to be driven about 60 miles from another dealer and I figure the balance was from test drives. Not to stressed but I did scratch my head for a minute or two until I did the math. I just wonder what went on during that jaunt from the other dealer. I'm sure the person driving it down obeyed all the traffic laws including, of course, the speed limit. Sheyeah...
