I Run mine on BP's 93 grade...nice low idle of 550 with A/C off, very smooth!

I believe that the Maxima "requires" premium. That is all I put in my car. 93 all the time

I don't ever get anything less than 93. 94 is probably a waste of money though.. the only place that has it is sunoco and they charge like 10 cents more a gallon for it, so I don't bother

I run 93 unless I'm so low that I can't get to a station with 93 and if that's the case I will put in $5 of 92. I try to stick with Amoco or Sunoco but often end up at Citgo, Speedway or Shell. Sunoco used to have 94 and it was only a penny or 2 more than 93 was but they stopped carrying it for some odd reason. I'd always try to use 94 when heading to the track just incase, to prevent any retardedness... knock retard at the track I mean.

Sunoco carries 87, 89, 92, 94 up here in Ontario, Canada. I also noticed that 93 was the best I could find on a journey from NY to FL.

92-93 whatever I can find

They have Cam2 at a sunoco here, thats 100+ octane, but it's like $3-4/gal.
I may run a couple gallons sometime to see if it's anything special or not

you feel any difference with that octane boost?

No, you won't.

All Octane does is prevent detonation (fuel exploding from the pressure and heat in the cylinder before the spark plug fires). Higher octane ratings allow you to make adjustments that would otherwise cause knock. The Max engine will advance the timing if it is given premium (91 octane) fuel resulting in better power and fuel efficiency. If you run less than 91 the engine has to retard timing to prevent knock. So running anything greater than the recommended octane level (which is usually a conservative estimate anyway) is a waste of money.

Although...I *only* run Sunoco Ultra 94. Yes, I'm wasting my money, bu that's fine...the max is worth a couple extra bucks. Judging by the pictures and info on Motorvate though, there may be slightly different detergents or whatever in premium fuels...so I run 94 just to be as safe as I can.

The highest here in town is 92 at $1.60 a gallon. Whenever I get the chance, I'll put in 93.

The difference in cost per tank, about $3.20 between the cheapest and the most expensive where I live, is not worth the savings.

When I switched to 93 after running 89 for a few years the ECU seemed to take a few tanks to adjust to the higher octane. After it did the car started and ran better all around and gained about 2 to 3 MPG.

93 when available, no less than 91. I only get gas from reputable places too, no Bob And Harry's Fill'm'Up. Just got 25 MPG with about 65/36 highway/city.

wow this really makes me think I hate my car

Poor 16 yr old runs...87

But I just got a job, so when the cash starts rolling in...I might bump it up...but it's like 20 cents more for 91 then 87...not feeling it. I probably need a new knock sensor too but don't really feel like checking codes...man that sounds bad.

My first and second fills were Chevron 92 and Petro 92 respectively.

After that, Chevron 94 all the way.
