Cylnder 1 Missfire?

What can be causing my Missfire, I just replaced my Sparks, Someone suggested its the boot, What else other than a bad boot could it be? Its really robbing me of my power.

I would check that corresponding ignition coil pack in general, it could have just gone dead. Test using a Digital Multimeter and use the 20k ohm scale. (By boot im assuming he means teh boot of the coil pack)

code 0608 right? i got the same thing

someone suggested i switch coils with number 3 or 5...so i put it in #3, and put coil 3 in cylinder 1.
the misfiring actually seems to be gone...but i bought some used coils as well...im sure my coil is on its way out.

Try checking it with the DMM, that will give you a sure answer which coils are good and bad.

Does anyone know how which coil is for cylinder #1. I'm having the same problem, I replaced all the spark plugs but the code keeps popping up about every 50 miles...

That is how your cylinders are numberd. The coil is on top of each spark plug, which is located at each corresponding number.

What size shot (NOS) are you using? Do you check your plugs often?

When I don't know what the problem is, I just take it to a small shop in Chicago and they usually tell you what's wrong (for free =P) and how much they'll charge to fix it =) After they tell you, just say you'll come back later when you save up the money and just fix it yourself if you can or have them do it if you can't =P

I don't remember which two streets exactly, but go down Montrose from California to Pulaski and there are like 4-5 repair shops. The people at Kim's Transmission and I think the 2nd one is called A&A or something like that (2 blocks east of Kedzie - next to a messed up car dealer), and those 2 places usually give me free estimates... They're both on Montrose... I haven't bothered with the other shops around here...

Cali gets cut off at Lawrence so take Western all the way to Montrose and make a right on Montrose... 2 blocks before Kedzie is the A&A shop (something like that - it right next to a small, messed up car sales thing) and 2 blocks after you pass Kimball is Kim's (on St. Louis)... There are more shops on Montrose if you want to visit those... All the shops are on Montrose so just drive and you'll see them...

Forgot to add, just tell them your problem and say that a friend told you the problem by pulling the codes from the car, but you don't know what's wrong with it. Then just act dumb and they'll tell you what's wrong and how much it'll be =)
