I have a dilemma :(

Ok, I finally saved up 2500, but now I don't know what I should do with it. On one hand, there are a lot of SC's for sale in the "for sale" section and most are around 2500. I eventually plan on FI, but if I go with the SC it will leave me with no extra money. On the other hand I was planning on getting some Moda r6 rims, PR CAI, cattman Y-pipe and a Hannabi H.I.D. kit. All should that should come around 2500.

Everytime I look at the SC's for sale I become more and more tempted. I don't mind the way my car looks stock, but I wouldn't mind having some nice rims along with 2 nice power adders. But of course I wouldn't see as big of gains with the CAI and Y-pipe, then I could with the SC. I know it's my money and my choice, but i'm interested to see what all of your opinions are. What are the pro's/con's of going FI. What would you guys choose? Keep in mind this is 2500 I plan on spending, I saved up for almost a year. I have a 97 se. It's completely stock. Any input would be appreciated

Keep saving and get a Brand *NEW* SC. The used ones will end up costing close to the New price for one. I talked to Stillen on the phone concerning a used SC and they told me not to do it. Almost no one takes every single piece you need out of it. (Ex: Plates) After that you need to get some guages too be on the safe side. So I think the best thing to do would be to keep saving a little more. Your almost there. Good Luck!

Thanks for the input image, has anyone here bought a used SC from an .org member? If so any problems so far? The one i'm looking at has 500 miles on his, and he is near me.

Doesn't Stillen have a reason to say not to buy a used SC? Like selling you a new one. Just make sure all the parts are there and go for it.

If I were you I would save and get the used SC with gauges. It will be a lot easier in future to get the CAI and Y-Pipe one at a time.

Yeah the used SC i'm looking at has all the parts w/ gauges too. I'm thinking of going for it because like you said the y-pipe and other mod's will be easier down the road.

Go for it man, I think that you will like the performance gains more than the Y-pipe and CAI.

Ok, i'm reading alot of negative things in the "supercharged/turbocharged" section about SC's and stock auto tranny's. My car is an auto, and it doesn't sound very incouraging.

Then, I would talk to some more people that have experience with the SC and the tranny setups to go with them. If people are saying that your tranny won't hold up then go the other route with the rims, Y, and CAI.

SC's and Auto's don't mix, like applesauce and tunafish. If you're going for FI, turbo the max. I say spend the $2500 on everything else you want, or give it to me.
