Need help on aftermarket remote starter please...
Guys I posted earlier in the week but no one responded, I really need help with my remote starter. Ok I have the Crimestopper CS 2015FM "The Informer". Basically I'm having trouble starting my car with the remote when its cold, when its warm no problem. I contacted Crimestopper they said to add a 4 to 5 pin terminal relay for the cold start wire and wire that up directly to the starter wire which is Brown, and the cold start wire which is black with green stripe. So me and my installer hook up the relay just as Crimestopper informed us, and still when the car is cold it just keeps cranking, and cranking, it won't start. Does this hurt the starter or anything else by the way? Just Curious, secondly which color is the OEM factory anti theft wire inside the door panel, because we also have too hook up the Crimestopper Factory Arm/Disarm feature, secondly my installer said since Crimestoppers advice failed that he will hook up the cold start wire directly to Ignition 2, and remove the existing Ignition 2 wiring, please help
what can we do to make the damn thing work...

do u really want a remote starter, cause they cause nuttin but trouble, many cars that i have had experience with at the dealership i work at... the cars with remote starters have battery issues, one truck just liked to start on its own randomly..sooo its really up to u
I have a remote starter on my car and they shouldn't cause any battery issues mainly because all it is doing is starting. If you have the fourth gen and you don't have both ignition wires hooked up you will have problems out of your starter. I know because when I didn't hook up the second ignition wire I had starting problems and it blew out my starter 2 times. Since I have fixed the problem I haven't had problems out of it since.
If it keeps Cranking, and cranking is it bad for the starter? So basically I have to hook up both ignition, and starter wires, I know both ignitions are hooked up, but I don't know about the starter wires.

I recommend you Get Some DEI Alarm System With Remote start. Like VIPER 550ESP.
Bro, the alarm itself is fine, and I like it I can't afford Viper Alarms I only make like $200 a week, and I'm 18 can't afford stuff like that. I got this alarm for $260 installed brand new. It does everything, paging, trunk opener, unlocking, locking, it senses shock just fine, it's just the wiring for the cold start that I'm having trouble with if someone can give an insight or a diagram on a how the cold start wire should be hooked up I'd appreciate it.
I own the viper 550esp w/remote start and trunk pop and all the good stuff. I have the same problem as you. When i first got it, it worked perfectly in the cold/heat for a good year. After a while, it takes 2 or 3 tries to get it working. I've heard its bad for the starter, but who knows. I just think that when the remote start is activated, it doesnt give it enough time to crank in the cold, therefore, doesnt come on. No real explanation to it...i just go ahead and try again...usually works second time around.
what chillinmax said is true that in the cold you do turn the key longer than in the warm air. so if all of your wires are hooked up it may take more than one crank to start. Your remote starter should try to start the car a second time on its on if the first try unsuccessful. then it should crank I have cranked my car up while it was burried in snow just fine and sometimes it takes two cranks.
