Hey - I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem with their fuel door. I have a 2001 GLE and one of the spot welds between the fuel door and the hinge (which is mounted to the body with two screws) has broken loose - causing the fuel door to seat slightly angled and away from the body of the car. I couldn't believe it when I saw what happened. Anyone else with a problem such as this? Any suggestions for repair or replacement? I submitted a request to nationwide online reclaimers but all responses were "no part in inventory". I would assume the dealership would sell me the door and hinge unpainted and I would have to go through the hassle and expense of having it painted to match the car. The car color is Sterling Mist so if anyone has a suggestion, please let me know. Thanks.
