About shaving your antenna....
About shaving your antenna....
I'm thiking about shaving my antenna. Only question is, how would I get a signal to my radio. I've heard of something that will turn your whole car into an antenna. Does anyone have any ideas?

I read on one of the threads that the Maxima has 2 antennas. One is obvious. The other is actually one of the defrosters on your back window (if you have them). The radio takes the best of the 2.
I remembered this 'cause I was surprised at this. I also noticed that during the winter months, when I put the back defrost on, there was one of the lines that did not warm up. I'm assuming that's the 2nd antenna.

Yea I read that to. I think its the one at the top that is shaped kinda funny. Anyway, I'll just try disconecting the power antenna, and see if I still get a good reception with the one in the window.

Depends on where you live and how strong the signal is. The window antennae isn't nearly as good as the power one. I had my power one fail once, the wire to my head unit came loose and the antennae stayed down. Reception really sucked except for in certain areas. And when I hit downtown Atlanta, reception was gone.
