Im torn.
i really want another maxima, but i am being tempted to buy a 2000 acura 3.2 tl type s. it looks really good, and the added horsepower is nice. but i know nothing about them! i mean with maxima's i know alot of things, and i can work my way out of problems... also i know they are reliable and they have a really good engine. but what about the 3.2 tl? do you guys have any comments? i really need some help... and also a 0-60 time would be nice too...
thanks guys.

hey hey, I used to own a 2002 TL Type-S, diamond white pearl with a black leather interior. Here's my impression, if you care to know:
1) You can tell that acura had to cut corners on this car, but it's still worth the sticker price, (ie fake wood, lotta plastic) spot welded in a lot of places, even spots put together with some sort of bondo glue tape thingee?
2) For the price it is loaded with features, the only optional feature is the nav system, which stomps the competition (BMW, Lexus, Infiniti [at the time I bought my car, the G35 wasn't out yet])
3) The TL's achille's heel is it's transmission. To the point where Acura had to send out an extended warranty on the transmission to 100K I believe. . I don't remember, I sold the car about a year ago. Install tranny cooler is almost a must.
4) The leather in the TL isn't as luxurious as my I30, but still better than the G35 coupe's.
5) VTEC, you'll never use it because I doubt you will hit 5500 rpm all the time.. i know i didn't.
6) The car, with all comptech bolt-ons (headers/exhaust/intake) except the supercharger, has been known to possess 340 something HP. . WOAH. that's a beast.
7) The car, with the factory body kit and a drop looks hella sweet. Unfortunately, everybody who owns a TL has already done this, your car would not look original.
8) TL-S has over 400 improvements over the regular TL, i would not settle for anything less than the TL-S if you were to switch over.
9) I believe the 0-60 time on the TL-S is about 7 seconds flat give or take .2 depending on the driver. I believe using the sportshift does not make a difference.
10) The new TL is gonna be ugly.
11) I do miss my TL-S at times, but only because it has that extra 70 hp and the autoshift. That can always be remedied with forced induction rite?
