just got my maxima, 2 annoying problems.. please read

problem #1 = when im in drive, and i shift to reverse.. i cant go anywhere, it just acts like its in neutral.. i have to shift to park, then to reverse to go in reverse.

problem #2 = the wheel "jolts" frequently, especially when going over 40-45mph. almost like losing control of it, but its only for a split second. kinda causes the car to swerve real fast.. very annoying.

if anyone has any ideas about these two problems, please let me know ASAP. the guy i bought it from had it aligned yesteray (has paperwork from it), so i guess that shouldn't be the cause of the wheel jolting? who knows, i dont know much about cars.

any help is greatly appreciated. thx.

not sure, but maybe the first problem is a bad shifter bushing?

My car did a simalar thing (Jolting) it was my lower control arm bushings. And as far as I know, no matter how many times you get the car aligned, it will remain out of alignment. The reverse problem sounds like a bad shifter bushing like someone said before.

First thing to check in an automatic transmission is the fluid and the fluid level. My autoshop teacher had a student bring him an explorer with a bad shifting trouble through gears and it turned out to be low on fluid and thats all. hope this helps

Heres 2 ideas what it may be for the 2nd problem... It could be a bad CV Joint or bad wheel axle, because I felt that happen a few times lately and I have a bad both hehe.

BTW if it is the wheel axle, it costs only about $130 parts and labor from my fav mechanic.
