They claim to be the brightest headlights other than HID's. Anyone heard anything about them...

1) the debate rages on about sylvanias.....i like them, but a) they suck on snow, and b) they seem to be dimmer than when i first bought them. Granted, bulbs eventually burn out, but at $25 a piece, they should last more than 8 months.

2) no, except for gloves if you recently used your headlights (the bulb gets VERY hot, i learned the hard way) or if the locking ring is all gunked up and stuck.

 

I put em' in two days ago. Very nice, very bright, NOT blue. Installation was simple, and took 45 seconds/side, and is as follows:

1) Locate connector plug on rear of headlamp. Push down on the bar/pin on the top of this clip (it says "push" on it) and pull straight off of the lamp.
2) The butt-end of the bulb is now exposed. A lock ring holds the bulb in the headlamp assembly. Turn the plastic lock ring one-quarter turn counter-clockwise. Both it and the bulb may now be removed from the back of the headlamp assembly.
3) Discard the old bulb, put the lock ring on the new one, and insert it into the headlamp assembly.
4) Turn the lock ring the same quarter-turn clockwise to secure it. Re-connect the plug to the rear of the bulb.
5) Repeat for the other side. (You may need to remove a small plastic shield from the passenger side that obstructs access to the lamp. It's only held in place by two screws.)

It's that easy! Enjoy. Mine are indeed bright as s***!

I've had them for about 3 months now I like them. Everyone tells me their bright as hell. No problemson the snow or when its wet. I got them for cheap. My brother hooked me up.

They are OK, a little brighter than stock but still a slight hint of yellow in them. I actually took out the pair I had and went to Bluevisions, then I found out that they are not much different from each other IMHO.

Any tint on a bulb will affect brightness--get the Sylvannia Extravisions--I plan to when my Silverstars burn out.
