Dealer Issue

I dropped my 2k2 6spd off for warranty work on the 2-3 grind.Dealer just called me and told me there might be a problem with getting the transmission fixed under warranty since my front tires are bald.

Can they do this?

I am not a burnout guy, I did maybe 4-5 ever since I have had the car, the only thing I do a lot is hit 2nd gear.

What do you guys reccomend me to do?What should I do?

Tell them "Oh, thanks for pointing that out...now why don't you fix the tires and shocks under my 3/36000 as well jacka$$?"

Yet again Nissan bull-****!!!!

How many miles you have on the car? If over say 18K, tell them they are worn due to miles driven and 'fix my frickin car'.

GuZo,
What Tim is saying is that a powerful fwd car that is mostly city driven, will almost always wear the front tires faster, if you don't rotate, then you are almost certain to wear them out first. Use this point in your dealing with the dealer if they try to say you abused your car. Again, it is not unusual for the front tires to be worn out with only 15k miles if you do not rotate and you do a lot of city driving. That is your counter point on the abuse thing.

I just came from the dealer and the service rep said the tires issue shouldn't stop them from giving warranty on the tranny. The other reason the car was there besdies the 2-3 grind is for the 15k service, they have already done that and they have rotated the tires, I saw the car, now I got a rental and my car should be done on weds or thursday.

The service rep also said that if Nissan North America give him the first order to open up the tranny and see what's wrong with it, it most likely means that they will be paying for it.
