Monster Flow Filter Question For the P.R.C.A.I

in the instructions on cleaning the filter it says to do a tackifier treatment. What is a tackifier treatment? All it says in the instructions is to spray it evently in a plastic bag, spray with what? is this step necesary and if so where do i get the spray? Oh and also do any of you guys with the place racing intake, do you have any spots on the actual tube where it shows signs of rubbing against something. Mine has several different spots where you can see noticable damage caused by rubbing. Thanks for the help in advance.

tackifier treatment i believe means like a k&n recharge kit, where as you spray the oil back on after cleaning it or tacking it. I think.

I took mine off, and sprayed it gently with compressed air, and then rinsed it with soapy water. I let it dry for a day, and it is doing fine so far. You can pick up a generic filter at your local rice shop for about $25 to use while you are cleaning. I was surprised that the foam-like filter held up as well as it did. My intake is probably installed a little differently though. I relocated my battery sideways, and went into the fender well. I don't have the factory foglights, and the opening is almost like ram air. And the filter sits up just enough not to get and road grime, or water on it.
