Need Info - Dealer installed sunroof

Has anyone out there had (or know of someone who has) had their Nissan dealer install a sunroof in a Maxima.

I have a Super Black 2000 Maxima that just doesn't look right without a sunroof wind deflector. Since the car would look even sillier with a deflector and no sunroof, , I was thinking of having one installed. Dealer says they can do it for about $1000 bucks. Any input would be greatly appriciated.

I knew someone who had theirs dealer installed. The car leaked terribly and had to go back multiple times and still leaks. They bought it new and the lemmon law wouln't help because it wasn't factory. I wouldn't do it.

My gut feelings would tell me not to do it. I know you would really enjoy a sunroof, but since your car was not designed with one, I think it might be asking for trouble. Even if they did an amazing install, it would never be as good as if it was built with one. Just my 2 cents. You'll like your car more if you leave it alone.

I had a dealer installed sunroof put in about two months ago and it works great. I paid $1000 and it is warrantied for life, the factory installed are only warrantied for the length of the warranty. Knock on wood that I won't have any problems, but so far , so good. BTW they didn't include a deflector so ask about that b4 you buy.

the sunroofs cool, but not necessary. just wait for it until u get another car. having the dealer cut a whole in the car isn't that great of an idea even if they are ase certified. i wouldn't do something like that in a million years. if you've got the 1000 to spend, get rims and body kit to make it look better and deter the look from the roof.

Wouldn't cutting a hole for the sunroof cause some loss of structural integrity, rigidity?
