HID Theft idea

I was thinking about the HID thefts on the 02-03 Maximas. I know a lot of people are putting in the AE headlights to prevent another theft and those who did it have not had any problems since (it appears that the crooks know what they are looking for).

So my idea - why not put in an after market HID kit along with the AE lights so you can still have the benefits of HIDs with the stealth of the AE lights?

Just a thought....

Oh, I didn't realize people have done that.. it is a pretty good idea. Just curious, is the beam pattern the same on the AEs as the 2k2/3s? Seems like the reflectors are somewhat different, ie. two circles as opposed to one giant one.

they can't be....the 2k2-2k3 housings were designed for HID, leaving a "cut-off" line of light.....the AE lights will have glare because they were designed for halogen application...

of course this is not saying that the AE's won't produce the same light if not more with an HID kit....just different looking with more glare for oncoming drivers

Damn, your title was misleading... I was expecting a decent how-to on "Stealing HIDs"

I guess I have to use the Civic forums instead...

just kidding....

BTW, with all of the other stupid drivers who don't give a rats a$$ about anyone else but themselves on the road, I could care less about a little more glare for the other drivers. I dare them to flash me...

Tell me about it. I could care less with all the times that I was staring at high beams coming in the other direction!
