Pics of your Max with Brake Calipers Painted

Hey like many here im saving cash for big mods but thought i might could spare a few bucks to paint the brake calipers. Post pictures of your maxima here or put up a link if you have painted yours. Also any tips, tricks, instructions and recommended paint brands would be great too.

A piece of great advice, clean the **** outta them. I made that mistake last time when i did mine, look like **** now...

I had painted them black, but im going with silver, i wonder how it'll look on my sunlit sand color...

Anyways, heres when they were black...

dont mind that surface rust, it was from my wheel weight that fell off ...its all fixed now...

i wouldnt even waste your time ordering that special caliper paint, get a can of heat resistent spray paint and a can of clear coat, put on like 5 or 6 coats and youre set. be sure to cover the rotors with duct tape or something.

I used Hi Temp spray paint rated at 900 degrees, no problems so far.

I basically used a can of brake caliper paint from PepBoys for like $6. I also got a set of brushes from there as well. You might want to get a small paint style brush if you really want to get the really hard to reach places. I took the whhels off and used newspaper to cover all the places I didn't want the paint to touch. I took off the wheels and did mine on the car. I used wheel cleaner and a steel wire brush to clean the calipers as much as possible.

questions

Is it ok to paint them without removing the calipers, will they come out just as good? I was thinking about cleaning them with my dremel tool using the wire brush attatchment. I think that should clean them pretty good.

Lookin good Law

the brakes are the Stillen AP Racing big brake upgrade with two piece 13" rotors and 4 piston calipers

I painted them with a brush, I didnt use a spray can, I just took off the wheels and painted them with gold Hi temp paint and a paint brush I sanded them down a bit before I painted em and they came out pretty nice- I used alot of brake cleaner to clean em up

Brand new Stillen setup installation. The plating is still on the rotor thats why it's gold.

Just did these this weekend. I took the caliper and mounting bracket off the car to paint them. They turned out really nice.

Excuse the fender gap. These were taken before I lowered the car. Used G2 caliper paint.

Nice pics so far. Before the pics, I was thinking about painting mine black(I have a blk car). But I think blk is too dark and doesn't show enough. to me red is too bright and common. Silver looks good, I'm sold on silver now.

Yeah I chose black so they would stand out less...a more of a stealthy look. That's just my style.

i was going to paint them the same color of my car (rosewood) but i didn't want them to stand out so much so i painted them black. now they take nothing away from my wheels.

The calipers after I got the last coat of clearcoat on. They were as smooth as glass the next morning.

Here's one of the mounting brackets. I concentrated on what you can actually see when they are on the car.

Taking them off was probably a little more work, but I didn't have to worry about taping off the rotors and everything else, plus I know I got good even coverage everywhere I wanted it. Hopefully they'll last...I don't want to have to do that again for a while.
