Wax in a circular or linear motion?

I've heard of members always applying wax in a linear motion for fear of swirl marks from a circular motion.
What way do you do it?
Is there any advantage to doing it either way?

I do it linearly to hopefully reduce swirl marks, plus its just easier IMO.

Linear is the way to go.

Linear is the preferred method. This way, the chances of swirling are greatly reduced from wax application.

I guess I'll be waxing linearly from now on. Seems like everyone agrees that that is the best way to do it.

You should wash, dry, and wax front to back on horizontal surfaces and top to bottom on vertical surfaces.

I've always put mine on in a circular but taken it off in a linear motion

That's how I used to do it. I never had any problems with swirls or anything.
Yesterday I tried the linear application, linear removal. I don't think it makes any difference, but if you worry about swirl marks then linear is the way to go.
However, I do think that circular application ensures more complete coverage due to overlapping.
