I wouldn't use newspaper.. Don't take the chance and just get some 100% cotton or microfiber towels. If you already aren't, get a window spray which does NOT contain amonia. I get mine at costco in a blue can.

Get an aerosol bottle of Commercial Tinted Window Cleaner from window tinting company. It contains silicon and other chemicals to extend life of tint. I used it with a terry cloth towel. Never had any tint problems on any of my cars when I lived in Florida in over 15 years of tinting cars.

I wouldn't use newspaper on tint either. The film is pretty thin so almost any rough surface can scratch it. I actually scratched a window on my old civic using newspaper to clean it. (There was a dry spot on the newspaper and it just so happend to form a sharp enough point. When I wiped the window it just etched a line into the glass.) And someone here on the .org scratched/chipped his tint when he unbuckled his seatbelt and the buckle hit the window. Bottom line - use cotton or terry cloth and something that DOES NOT contain amonia.

I used newspaper on tint once and the little fibers made it all cloudy and never came out. But maybe it was just crappy tint.

I use newspaper on tint all the time. They're still crystal clear. Perhaps it's the quality of the tint that is most important here. I have Llumar film.

Also, one shouldn't have to scrub the **** out of those windows. If you do, perhaps you should clean them more often!

I've been using newspaper on my tint for 1 1/2 years and no scratches. Just make sure the window cleaner is safe for tint

Newspaper will not scratch up tint. You will be fine. No amonia spray, if you do, it will slowly fade your tint away.

What is special about newspaper that makes it better for windows then just a towel...even on non-tinted windows.
