0-60 times for a 4th Gen Maxima

Does any one know what the reputable car rags (Motortrend, Car&Driver, Autoweek, etc.) have recorder for a 4th generation Maxima's 0-60 times? How about 1/4 mile times?
I ask because I was asking a guy at work his opinion on a 95 SHO vs a 95 Maxima (both w/ 5spd). He said,"Well a Maxima is not really biult for performance, and although it will out accelerate a Camry, the SHO would be quicker because it IS biult for performance."
I found this hard to believe. Yeah the SHO does have about 30 more HP than the Maxima but the Maxima is 377 pounds lighter than the SHO. And the torque peaks are very similar.
I just don't see the SHO being THAT much faster (if it's faster at all).
Maybe I'll post a new thread entitled "95 SHO vs 95 Maxima". I bet I'd get quite a few replies to that, no?
Thanks in advance,
Ivan

Yeah you may get some replies but it be a lot easier to do a search and find that someon has already had that idea and talked about it for a while....do a search, you' be
happy.........0-60mph 6.6 sec q/mile 15.2sec stock 1995 maxima 5spd.................(the search option is at the upper right corner of the screen, in case you didn't know.)

I believe .....
the SHO ran a 6.4 0 to 60 time when it came out(in the mags). Very quick cars. They were really strong over a 100 as well...220 hp Yamaha. The max is right there in times as well. On the street those differences are negligible, one could beat the other(depends on the driver). I think the SHO would probably have pulled a little more on the high end though...80 and up.
6.6 seconds--one time deal
That figure is mythical. Yes, it did occur. But if you go back to late 1994 the Maxima was on C&D's Ten Best list. That is a tough list to get on, because BMW will always have 3 of the spots. The Honda Accord has made it for nearly 2 decades, so it leaves 6 more openings. Nissan was ridiculously foolish not to keep up and as we all saw by late 97 Maximas needed over 2000 in incentives to even sell at all. Dealers let them go at prices that ate away their holdback, not to even mention being 2800 below invoice.
So the 6.6 existed for a well-maintained 1995 SE 5-speed. I would estimate a '98 to be around 7.4, and a 5th gen at least 7.5 or slower. But isn't it convenient that the 2000 brochure still uses the 6.6 number, and puts an asterisk saying it was for a different year. Even the new BMW 5 does it in 6.8, so I doubt Maxima can even get a 7.1.

NOTE: read Car and Driver long term tests. The Maxima they had actually improved its times over the 40,000mile period. That shows you that some engines run as strong new as they do with a couple thousand miles on the odometer.
well though the ford is faster, you can still point out the fact that a maxima will last longer, be more reliable and not creak as much when DRIVEN. i tested a 93 SHO 5-SPD and it made so many creaking, clunking and scary sounds that i didn't buy it. 220 HP is great, but it's still ford quality everywhere but the engine.
