I did that about a year ago, and I don't regret it one bit. Its easy and makes the max sound nice and mean. Im not too sure that it really does anything for parformance, but it sounds cool as hell.

No, I made mine for way less than that. I think mine was like 10-15 total, but I already had the K&N. I'd make my own again, Its not that hard. I think it took me maybe an hour, And that is including going to the store and buying the parts.

Just wondering does the intake described in the link above provide the same gains as say a pop-charger? or the intakes that they sell on ebay?

the gains will actually be better all around, cause the pop charger makes you lose a bit of low end power

OK I get it about fabricating the pipe, but after doing so where do you get the filter from? Is it just an off the shelf filter or do you need something special?

The air filter that I'm using is a universal K&N. Most shops can order you one. They have hundreds of sizes.

I did it and i drilled an extra hole in the pipe for that little sensor. second cheepest mod i have done to my car and i would do it again

Great sound expacially after the y-pipe

the only think i want to do is purchase silicone tubing to replace the hoses that connect to it.

(Cheepest mod was changing the color of my clock)

I bought mine at AutoZone. It was an 18x3 extension pipe. I just cut to size.

I was trying to install the intake, but I have no idea where I can find a 1/2 inch drill to drill in the pipe for the two hoses. If anyone has any ideas help me out.

i used a step down bit.. you can find these at most hardware stores looks like a cone that when you start drilling will keep making the holes larger as the bit goes in deeper..
