I wrote up the procedure (in Word 97) for moving the battery to the trunk on a 4th gen. and have some jpgs to go with it. I was wondering if one of you guys that has a Maxima website would be interested in posting it? I'll be happy to give it to any and all who want it.

.

I know I'm sounding pretty ignorant here, but what is the advantage of having the battery in the trunk vs. under the hood???

The reason I moved the battery to the trunk is for better weight distribution on the autocross track.

My Maxima pushes (understeers) really bad, as do most front wheel drive cars. IIRC, the factory weight dist. is 63% front and 37% rear. Redistributing some of the front end weight to the rear reduces push and gives the car better balance through the turns.

that was what i was thinking...

i thought it would be handy for someone thinking about a custom intake or CAI setup.. i didn't even think about the weight distribution aspect..every little bit helps for that understeer!

it'll be up in a week or so under my site.

I

I've been thinking about this for a while, besides the weight distribution advantage, this corner being open presents lots of apportunities for a CAI mod; I'm thinking with a piece of chrome plated pipe and some sort of pass thru to the front of the car in the grill area.

So far, these 3 web sites have my files up. Thanks to all of you webmasters for being so quick. One guy had 103 fever and was considering going to the emergency room, but he still managed to post it!
