Warranty issue (recall) on rims?

Today I asked the parts dept. manager at a dealership about the finish on the '03 titanium package rims and to see how much one of them cost. OMFG.....$580 each!!!! Damn Nissan is prode of them rims. What I want to know is if anyone has heard of a problem with the silver finish staying on the rim? The reason I ask is because I talked to a few service tech's at the dealership and they said that they have heard that Nissan know of a problem with the finish on those particular style rims. But the parts manager said it isn't so. Who should I believe or better yet, where might I find out if there is an issue on my own? Thanks for your help.....

there is a problem with the finish peeling off, but you have to wait for it to happen to you before they'll do anything about it.

if/when it happens bring them back and start yelling and they'll replace them... they know about the problem.

The only thing I didnt understand is why they painted a finish on there and just didnt polish the wheel to achieve that look? All these problems wouldve been resolved.

cause it makes too much sense for them to do that...

simplicity does not seem a common thread among the recent Nissan engineers products
