I did a search but did not come up with any useful info on this. But does anyone know how to safely disable the ABS system? i know that disabling the ABS system probably isn't safe...but i'd like to do that anyway. temporarily at least.

I was planning on simply disconnecting the 4 wires that plug into it. Is that all there is to it? or am i missing something?

any help is appreciated.

 

All I think you have to do is pull out the ABS fuse and voila.. disabled.

 

Ok, i looked all over in the FSM but can't find where it is located. Do you know?

 

um, could it be with all the other fuses? under the steering wheel close to the door?? LOL

 

actually, it's not. for now, i went ahead and disconnected the 3 wiring harnesses that lead into the actuator. Hopefully, that should work.

 

you should be able to tell if it worked. if ads has a prob, the abs light on your instrument cluster (dash) should light up.

i pulled the fuse and my front wheels got extremly hot and my front rotors and pads were smoking. do you think if i pull the wire harnesses it would be any different, or should i say any better?i would appreciate any help i can get. my accuator keeps buzzing, just looking for a temp. way to fix this

 

Have you considered pulling the relays?


best advice, look at a manual, figure out how it all works, then decide how to go about disabling it. Get a througho under standing on how the system works before you tamper with it. Once you under stand how it works.

I have a feeling that people are hesitant to help you out because this is really a dangerous and "worthless" modification.

 

i appreciate it, good looking out, i will try the relays, the reason i am asking is my abs accuator keeps buzzing and draining my battery any other suggestions?

 

the same thing is happening with my car. I disconnected the 3 wires leading into the actuator but it still keeps buzzing.
