climate control light dim

I just bought a 93 GXE and the auto climate control light goes dim, and then if you hit the dash may or maynot go back to bright. Has anyone had a similar issue?

its a common problem. i had the same, still do actually, apparently you can open the unit up poke around with a wood stick and find a transitster with a bad connection and then resolder it and your fine. it has worked for alot of people, unfortunatly it never worked for me, good luck.

I pulled the unit out this Saturday, I retouched every solder joint put it back in and still had the same issues. The plug in the back was the key, it had to be pusher in and then I used a cable tie. Put it back in the car the 2nd time and it worked, but has gone dim 2 or 3 times and then comes back on I think its in to stay.

I have a 92 SE and my climate control lights would dim too. After a while, beating it to death didn't help any more. I took it apart and found the little light bulbs. Mine just weren't getting a solid connection, so I tightened them up. Hope this helps
