Magnaflow muffler #14829 installed: REVIEW!

[background]
This Magnaflow Muffler Street Series #14829 was purchased in July, 2003 from amixam98 off the org. It had 5000k on it. 2.25" inlet, 4" tip. Already welded and ready to be bolt-on on a 95-96 application. A bit of rust but that's okay

[installation]
after skimmin thru the instruction from maxima.org, there was not too much of problem except couple rusted bolts. WD-40 did magic. i guess when amixam98 weld his muffler the distance was a bit short to the stock b-pipe. i had to run to nissan dealership pick up an exhaust gasket for $4 to complete the gap. i ran the muffler without the muffler for couple days and it was loud. after the exhaust gasket was installed the muffler was really quiet, nearly stock sound.

[performance]
i *felt* a bit a gain at higher end of rpm, at higher speed i also felt a bit faster in accerlerating.

[sound]
i think my intake is louder than my muffler it's very quiet at idle. before 3,000rpm the muffler has a bit of gentle growl, after 3,000rpm of course the intake takes over. on highway cruising it's not loud at all. near stock.

[personal opinion]
personally i suggest this muffler to people who wants to go custom over OBX catback. it's very quiet. personally i will pick up a budget b-pipe without resonator jus cuz i want it louder.

[pix]
don't have my digital cam with me, i'll keep u guys posted.

side note: so yea i'm not a ricer anymore thx for reading!

congrads man...glad you like it. Sounds very comparible to my Dynomax Super Turbo...I like it, but I wouldn't mind it being a little tiny bit louder, so I am giving budget a call here pretty soon

my magnaflow drones before 2600 RPM. then again i have the race series while you have the street. perhaps the street series are more quiet.

I got one of those laying around the house too. As soon as I find someone who can re-weld my trailer hitch so it will fit, I'll be putting mine on too.

Hey happyricefob, glad you like the new exhaust. I just put on the 14827 magnaflow and love how quiet it really is. But it seems my exhaust may be hanging lower than it should. I have about a 2 finger gap between my bumper and the top of the exhaust. Is this what your getting also? I would like it if it was abit higher up. I can't wait to see your pics.
