How to clean JWT pop charger properly?
I have a JWT pop charger... just the cone filter part. I was wondering what the proper way is to clean it, and what I should use? I read up about some guys getting the CEL after cleaning their filters so I am hoping that there is a way to avoid that and still properly clean the filter.
Any help is appreaciated.

Re: How to clean JWT pop charger properly?
I've got the same JWT cone intake on my max, and all I did to clean it was to go get the K&N filter recharger kit from a local auto parts store and use it (I think the kit was like $20 or so). If I remember correctly, it came with the spray on cleaner that you leave on for like 15 minutes (spray only on the outside), then rinse water through it from the inside out only, then let it dry very well (don't use heat on it, you don't want it to dry to the point of getting brittle), then spray on the oil supplied with the kit. These instructions are all from memory, so I may be a little off in the exact wording, but the instructions come with the kit.
My JWT was blue when I first got it, but after using the recharger kit it turned red, probably because the kit was made for K&N filters, which are red. After cleaning it I've had no problems to speak of, and definitely no CEL.
Hope this helps.

My filter was full of dirt, the way I could tell was that the normal vibrant blue color it used to have was completely gone and instead it was a very dull gray color. Sorry if it's not very scientific, but since most people don't have flowmeters to measure whether their flow has significantly dropped, it's got to be done some other way.
As for whether the cleaning helped, the only difference I noticed (other than the filter looked clean...and now red) was that I could hear the air flowing through the filter more, kind of like a more intense sucking noise when I'd blip the throttle. Once again, not scientific, but as far as qualitative observations go, I think this one was fairly accurate.
