See my sig for a 2000 SE 5 speed stock vs modded plot. The 2001 AE 5 speed will be pretty much identical to the 2000 5 speed stock plot. The rated 5 hp difference is so small as to be almost insignificant.

i guess you posted the graph for the 4th gen maxima (95-99)
cuz the horsepower and torque is from that car in the chart

nope... thats a 5th gen... the 5th gen has about 190 hp at the wheels... 222hp that they claim is at the fly wheel... whenever u dyno a car they take the rating at the wheel... so that infact IS for a 2000+ Max...

MadMax when u tested it modded what mods did it have? everything thats in ur sig?

the engine has 227(AE) 222(any other model) but you lose horse power to little things when you drive like to ur A/C and little stuff that drains it...... if u have an auto (like i do) this is even worse... the torque converter (for an auto) and fly wheel take alot as well so little things add up and not all ur HP is going straight to your wheels....

Flywheel!

one word. It's a metal disc about 15" in diameter Bolted to the crank on the engine with teeth on the circular edge, for the starter to turn it.

It also acts as a friction surface (like your brake discs) for the clutch disc.

The power Manufacturers give, are infact HP figures at the engine crank, (so you'll hear people say HP at the "crank" or at the "Flywheel") but in reality it takes power to turn the flywheel, the clutch, the transmition gears, the driveshafts, and the wheels) so for most modern cars that HP loss is about 15% of the "original" HP, when it is measured at the wheels.(If you want to see original power figures you would have to take oout your engine and take it to a Shop with an Engine Dynomometer) But almost all tunning shops use the Wheel Dynomometer, so most of the Dyno graphs that you will see are for HP at the wheels. So take into consideration the 15% HP loss when you look at these.

So 85% of the "Original" 222HP for the maxima will be about 188, Now also take into consideration that not all Maximas are the same, most will differ in HP a bit, due to Manufacturing tolerances and state of tune. The best built Maxima will put down maybe 192 HP (stock) and the worst built Maxima will put down 186 HP (stock), just hope yours is one of the better built ones>

If you have an auto, you'll be putting about 170-ish to the wheels. But we do get the comfort and convenience of a nice drive in heavy traffic.

It had a Cattman Y-pipe and Place Racing CAI. All else was stock.

True. Mine put down about 191 hp to the wheels stock. It seems that all of them fall into the range you suggested.
