I know that most things on the two engines are different but Im not sure about the compressor and altenator because I think that they do the same thing on either engine. I will be changing both on my car soon and I will probaly buy them online (ebay) since everything is cheaper I just want to make sure that I get the right one since most non Maxima owenrs dont know that there are 2 different engines.

I know for a fact that the alternators are different...the stupid people at Advance kept sending me the wrong one. With you driving a 92 max, I'm gonna guess you're running r134a...There are labels on the a/c hoses though. It would be a good idea to check and make sure.

I'm not sure...My alternator is a 95 amp, so I would guess the alternator isn't right. The people selling the items didn't really give enough info to tell for sure, so I would suggest emailing them.

Ok let me ask this question then. I have read about people changing their r12 to r13a what is involved in this how hard is it to do and how much should I expect to pay my mechanic to do the conversion.

Maybe you can ask them to send you the part number of the alt and comp to see if you can cross reference the number at the dealer.
