Lately, or i should say the past week since i changed my oil, whenever i start my car up, the oil light comes on, blinks twice, and goes off. It used to just come on and go off, along with the rest of the dash lights, but now it blinks. I checked the oil, and it's fine, can anyone tell me why it's doing this. Also, my car has been running real rough lately. I'm getting close to new plug time, and i'm good on oil and air filters and TB. I could probally use a new fuel filter/pcv valve or maybe a knock sensor. I can't check the codes, becaue the screw on the ECU broke off, so i don't know if any codes are being thrown. The car is running rough, but i'm still getting good gas mileage, so i don't think it's a O2 sensor/pcv valve.


Another thing: About 3 weeks ago, i was on my way to work and had to take a dump. When i pulled inot the parking lot, i turned off the car and ran to the bathroom. When i was done, i came out to get my gloves and realized that i left my lights on.I turned off my lights, and tried to start the car, but it woudn't start. I went in to work, and on my break, came out and tried again. This time the car started, but the clock needed to be reset. Now, when i start the car, it takes a little longer to start, like the battery is dying. I haven't gotten a battery light or any warning signs, and this week is when this first started happening. Any ideas? This weekend i'll have the battery and alternator tested, but i think it might also be the heat.

My oil light flashes too. I have plenty of oil and good filter (bosch). It's always done it.

New plugs should help your rough running some. You can get autozone to pull the ECU codes for free. If they wont do it without a lit CEL, just start the car without the MAF hooked up once to make it come on.

 

You need a new battery as well. Buy one before it is too late and you get stranded!
