Has Anyone Done the Stock Intake Mod?

I was readin another post where if you drill holes in the silencer box below you battery, that you can get alittle more power in the upper range is this true? It is noticeable?

Dyno butt really can't feel anything, but it did raise my auto's shift point about 100 RPM's.

Just knowing your intake breaths better ........ Priceless

The box below the battery is just a sound dampener. There is no outlet to the throttle body. You must be talking about the airbox.

No you drill a hole in your lower air box

Opening up anything before the air box will do little. The biggest draw back to the intake is that the inlet from the snorkel into the air box is smaller than the outlet going to the throttle body. To over come this just drill another hole that is pointing away from your engine and it should match what the throttle body is trying to suck in.

Yes I have done it, but have sense moved onto a JWT filter/velocity stack and directed cool air to it.
