I just got my 10" neons from http://jcwsportcompact.com. I want to wire them so them come on when the courtesy lights on the door come on, i.e. doors open and/or are unlocked. Anyone know where I can tie into that switched powersource?

There are probably a few places. The dome light is one of them. Also, the actual courtesy lights in the door can probably be tapped into. But, these two spots may be tough to get to and splice a wire from. Easiest may be the fuse box. If there is a separate fuse for the interior lighting, then that may work.

I ended up trailing a wire from the courtesy light through the door and then back behind the passenger dash. I took the whole glove box out so I could do a pretty seemles job. It was a b*tch but now I dont have nasty wires all over the place. I'm happy and now I have pretty red lights under the dash!

Take the door light out and check both wires. Check the voltage and polarity of each with a digital volt meter. Pop off the kick panel, and locate the harness coming through the car from the door. Look for the same color wires as the light. Note there will be several wires with the same color scheme, so check all. The harness enters the car through the upper kick panel area. I believe the negative trigger wire might be red with a white stripe (check to be safe). The lights in the car are triggered by a negative -12v source. So now hook up the positive neon wire to an open connection in the fuse panel, be shure to use a fuse, and connect the negative to the one in the kick and your lights will work via the remote, or whenever the doors are open. Also the battery saver feature of the max will still function if the doors are left open for too long.

I tried to find the right wire pair but damn... there are sooo many.. I found one that matched.. but then it had colored hashes too... so I did it right from the source. I'll post pics after I get my red dome bulb from YJ.
