Paint Chips turning into rust spots

I was doing a little maintence on my car today and came across quite a few paint chips that have turned into rust spots. My car has 51k on it and has many paint chips due to Nissans poor paint. I am affraid that when the winter comes, many more of the chips are going to turn into rust spots. Does the Nissan Corrosion Warranty cover this? Anyone else notice this happening to their cars?

You wont get nissan to pay for jack. As for the paint rusting, well thats nissan quality for you. The only thing the rust thru warranty covers is if it rusts thru from the inside. Otherwise you're outta luck.

I broke out my dremel this weekend to sand out those rust spots and touched them up with the Paintscratch paint marker until I can repaint the front of my hood. Dremel is the shyte!

After living in CT for 4 years, my hood is riddles with rusty chip spots. What attachment did you use with the Dremel?

Where can one buy a Paintscratcher marker and does it match the specific paint name?

thanks

Al,

www.paintscratch.com

The dremel bit number is 953 used at speed number 6.

I've seen Turtle Wax selling some kind of paint marker/wax stuff at Walmart. Does that work just as well?

Thanks...

Is the paint easy to apply? Is any wet sanding necessary?

#953 Aluminum Oxide Grinding Stone
I can't picture myself using it where I won't walk the bit all over the place and make more scratches.

User is lightly and keep control of your hand. I just used a circular motion when I sanded the rust spots and no problems.

The paint is the best I've used. Way better than Nissan paint.
