New Clutch... Any opnions?

I am pretty sure I need to put new clutch since SC is on. I am not really good at this boost stuff so just wondering what kind of clutch should I go with? I have a 97 max with 100K miles..... Thanks

I would go with the Exedy Stage 1, because I don't want to kill my transmission. But I must admit, driving Marchdown20's car with an ACT, VLSD tranny, and short shifter is very fun.

ACT street disc. Had mine for thousands of miles, and still grabs instantly like new. I don't beat up on the gears TOO much though, and my transmission is perfect. (83,000 miles)

I heard the exedy is almost like stock, so not sure if it would hold a SC. anyone else have exedy with SC?

I just installed the act and I like it. Takes abit of time to get used to, but it grabs hard and I dont think the pedal is that much harder at all.

I got my ACT from ptuning.com they have a banner on the org, paid like 350 shipped.

My stock clutch slipped pretty bad with the SC if I wasn't careful.

Installed an ACT while doing the engine swap. Break in was kinda rough, but now its just great. No slipping. You just need to be careful and take it easy on the tranny.

I got mine quite a while back (almost a year) through a GD here. I think it was like $300 + shipping.

The "street disc" is what they call it I believe. HDMM-something, I'm not quite sure.

Its the ACT disc (non-puck clutch) that everyone uses.

I stay away from ACT clutches after it went out on me after few months. I recommend clutchmaster stage 3 if they offer for maximas.

Fidanza is an billet aluminum light flywheel. The ACT is the clutch. A very nice combo.

Here is JAY25's review:
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hlight=fidanza

It seems that your would really want one with a boosted application.

Also if you are willing to pay extra for the ACT by all means go for it, the difference is the ACT uses a modified pressure plate to give the faster grabs, and it retains a 39% increase in clamping force over stock, and the ACT uses an Exedy Disc. The Exedy stage 1 kit uses the same disc as the ACT, however it does not have the modified pressure plate and retains a 37% increase in clamping force over stock.

Hope this helps

So I am assuming I should order an ACT Clutch Kit w/ Street Strip Disc that features 39% increase in Clamping Force and 362ft./lbs. Torque Capacity?

Also I need to order a Fidanza 11lb. Aluminum Flywheels with replaceable friction surface.

If this is it then I guess gotta get it :-(
